Since laminate furniture, shelves and wardrobes stay steady for Years to Come, one doesn't change them very often. So, let’s explore what are some key factors to keep in mind -
1) Thickness - Laminates come in different thicknesses, ranging from 0.6 to 1.5 mm for interior works. It’s best to know the sheet’s thickness before purchasing them. Different spaces require different thicknesses.
2) Size - Its size remains constant across all brands, which is 8 by 4 feet. They can easily be installed on plywood or HDHMR boards.
3) Utility -Do you wish to create a wardrobe or kitchen cabinets, shelves or sofa pieces?
Well, as a general rule of thumb for Kitchen Cabinets, we use 1.0 mm or 1.5 mm for the outside surface, along with 0.8 mm liners, that are placed inside the shelves to enhance durability and provide an easy maintenance process.
4) Pricing - While pricing remains an important factor, always try working with branded sheets so they can be traced back or replaced if needed. Some popular brands Interiors Insight deals with are - Labacha, Looks Lam, Century, Abate and many more.
5) Aesthetics - In order to get the aesthetics right, consider the 60/30/10 design ratio for colour balancing your space. Consider what other colours does the space have? Consider the flooring, any existing furniture pieces and even ceilings. It is always suggested to listen to your inner voice to get closer to your personal style. Pick Interior materials that speak to you.
